CindyPrenoobJoined: 10:39:05Messages: 16OfflineFirstly, hi folks and thanks for all the great advice in the past. I recently puchased Bias pitch craft.

Download

I was going to go with Melodyne but then decided because I couldn't try a demo version (because the Mac I'm using isn't connected to the internet,) I'd rather lose $20 than a $100+Turns out Pitch craft is terrible. Not only does it turn some notes badly out of tune, it also creates a horrible popping noise in most of the others. Maybe I'm not using it propperly as I've never used auto pitch before. I have played around with all the controls and no matter what it sounds terrible.

I'm using it on a pan flute recorded in stereo, native american flute, ocarina and quena. Maybe it works fine with vocals but thats not what I want it for. Does anyone know of a good pitch correction plugin that works with both stereo and mono and wooden flutes, or some advice on what I may be doing wrong using pitchcraft would be great. Thanks againCindy.

It's tougher but it works great for slight pitch and tuning. I don't know for sure. That version doesn't do note correction, but if you do have it you are eligable for a 'loyalty' upgrade to the Editor at a stupid price. If not, contact Sweetwater.com and see if they can get you the Editor in a box. BlindDogPrenoobJoined: 03:10:11Messages: 88Location: ColoradoOfflineThe Melodyne Editor is as good as it gets for pitch correction (in my opinion). I've used it on a both male and female voice, acoustic guitar, bass, cello. And the direct note access is.

Well it's just magic.Definitely watch the videos to understand the user interface. It's not as obvious as it first appears. But the time is well spent; with Melodyne you can tune anything as gently or as tight as you want, and the auto-detection of pitch is excellent.

Just make sure you feed a good strong signal into it for best results.Edit: And it works great in S1 Pro (1.6.4).This message was edited 1 time. CindyPrenoobJoined: 10:39:05Messages: 16OfflineI tried studio ones manual pitch correction along with the tuner very tricky and time consuming. Works ok for the longer, held notes very hard for faster notes especially in stereo. I would also like to correct a couple of notes on the guitar track, I'm playing classical using finger picking, is the melodyne able to correct this or is it only for solo instruments?

Also does anyone know of any web sites I can download Melodyne at a good price? Needs to have Pay pal as I live in Australia. Thanks Cindy. Julia BPresonoidJoined: 23:09:59Messages: 1244Location: Seattle WAOfflineMelodyne Editor needs to be updated to the latest version. That's going to be a download. There were some horrendous bugs in one version of it, but they're fixed now.HOWEVER, my original product initially failed on download because it was tied to the computer I was on. BlindDogPrenoobJoined: 03:10:11Messages: 88Location: ColoradoOfflineMelodyne Editor requires an iLok? Is that a Mac only thing? I don't have an iLok on my Win7/64 machine and it's working just fine.
